Forrest Community Services can facilitate access to a Continence Advisor (a registered nurse with qualifications in the management of bladder and bowel conditions) through this program.

Services provided include:

• presenting continence clinics
• providing specific management plans and assessment
• giving advice on aids and appliances that are available; and
• education and inservice to health professionals and care givers

The Advisor is also available to offer advice and management on:

• healthy bladder and bowel habits
• bladder training techniques
• pelvic floor rehabilitation
• use of urinary drainage devices
• aids and appliances
• applications for government funding to supply aids and appliances.

Accessing the service:

Individuals, family members, carers or health professionals can refer clients to the Continence Advisor.
